Harvest Haven Community Service Center
February 2026 Newsletter
Dear Harvest Haven Family,
As we step into February, the early signs of spring bring renewed hope and gratitude. This year, the Lunar New Year on February 17 adds a special sense of celebration, renewal, and joy throughout the month. Looking back over the past year, we see how Harvest Haven has continued to grow—strengthened by your support, encouragement, and partnership. As we embrace 2026, we look forward to walking together once again, planting seeds of warmth in our community and harvesting joy and hope. May this New Year bring peace, health, and abundant blessings to you and your loved ones.
One of this month’s featured events is our Christian Singles Fellowship for ages 24–40, taking place on Saturday, February 28. The gathering will begin at 6:30 PM and conclude at 8:00 PM. Pastor Wu from Family Keepers will share a 45-minute message on faith, relationships, and personal growth, followed by relaxed and meaningful interactive activities. If you know Christian friends within this age group, we warmly invite you to encourage them to join us. We pray this evening becomes a safe, uplifting, and joy-filled time of connection.

Beyond our Wednesday and Thursday senior gatherings, our Line Dance program has become one of the liveliest activities at Harvest Haven. With over 50 participants across three class sessions, the room is always full of energy and laughter. Our beloved instructor, Joan, is deeply appreciated for her clear teaching, warm personality, and great patience with learners of all levels. Whether someone is dancing for the first time, hoping to improve their technique, or even starting with “two left feet,” Joan has a gift for helping each person gain confidence and dance beautifully. A few spots remain! If you enjoy music, movement, and staying active, you are welcome to join us every Monday at 10:00–11:00 AM, 11:00–12:00 PM, or 1:00–2:00 PM. Please inquire at the Harvest Haven front desk to register.

Last month, we were also grateful to host an impactful seminar on Behavior and Alzheimer’s Awareness, presented by Kristy Huang. More than 40 participants joined us for this important and practical session. Many seniors and caregivers shared afterward that the seminar helped them better understand early symptoms, communication strategies, and ways to support loved ones facing memory-related challenges. The room was filled with thoughtful questions and heartfelt discussions, reminding us how essential it is to equip our community with knowledge and compassion. We look forward to offering more health-related workshops to continue supporting the well-being of our seniors.
This month also marks the official launch of Harvest Haven Home Support Services, created to meet the practical needs of seniors in our community. Trained youth volunteers will provide support such as transportation to medical appointments, grocery shopping, reading mail, filling out forms, and assisting with basic household tasks. This program is designed to help seniors live safely, independently, and with dignity. If you or someone you know may benefit, please contact Gloria. We also welcome young adults with a heart to serve to join our volunteer team.

In response to community needs during tax season, Harvest Haven will once again offer Free Tax Filing Assistance from February through April. This service supports low-income individuals, seniors, and those with limited mobility through one-on-one filing appointments. Advance registration is required.
Our Cantonese and Mandarin Senior Gathering continue weekly with a rich variety of programs including health seminars, topic sharing, movement classes, crafts, and practical lessons such as AI for everyday living. We remind everyone that the Mandarin Gathering now begins at 10:00 AM—aligned with the Cantonese Gathering schedule.
As we begin a new year, we are also refreshing our facility. A new digital announcement board has been installed in the lobby, and upcoming improvements include painting, space organization, and equipment updates. To accomplish these tasks, we joyfully invite church groups, fellowships, youth teams, and individuals to participate in “Volunteer Work Days.” If your group would like to serve, we would love to schedule a time. For those interested in renting Harvest Haven for meetings, classes, or celebrations, please contact Gloria—members receive special rates.
Another meaningful project launching this year is “Stories of Harvest Haven.” We invite you to share your personal experiences—moments of joy, transformation, gratitude, or the reason you choose to participate and support this ministry. Selected stories will be featured in our monthly newsletter and on our website. Please send submissions to: mail@harvesthaven.org
“See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?” — Isaiah 43:19
Finally, we extend our heartfelt thanks to all who supported Harvest Haven in 2025. Your generosity, prayers, encouragement, and joyful presence enable Harvest Haven to continue as a place of warmth and belonging for our community. If you feel led to support Harvest Haven financially in 2026, we are deeply grateful and committed to using your gift wisely to bless more lives.
May this month be filled with peace, health, and abundant joy for you and your family.
With gratitude,
The Harvest Haven Team
