Dear Friends of Harvest Haven
As we enter this season of gratitude, our hearts are overflowing with thanksgiving. Whether you are one of our beloved seniors attending weekly gatherings, a dedicated volunteer serving behind the scenes, a generous donor supporting our work, or a friend who simply cares—your presence and participation have made Harvest Haven a place of warmth, care, and community. We thank God for you!

On October 25, our highly anticipated second digital literacy workshop was held, with Mr. Eric Siu once again delivering clear, hands-on teaching. He covered essential iPhone features and introduced the practical use of ChatGPT in everyday life—emergency assistance, translation, voice notes, calendar, and intelligent health tools. Over 100 seniors attended and left inspired. We especially thank our new volunteer partners: attorney Yongheng, Dennis, and Pastor Charley Kuo, for their service. More digital education sessions are coming—stay tuned and bring a friend!
Muscle loss often goes unnoticed as we age, yet it significantly increases the risk of falls, disability, and hospitalization. On Saturday, November 15 (2:00–4:00 PM), we welcome Professor Jenny Niu, Ph.D. in Health Promotion from National Taiwan Normal University, who will share the latest nutrition and exercise research to help seniors prevent and even reverse muscle loss. Her warm, practical teaching style and 30+ years of experience make this a not-to-be-missed opportunity!

Here’s what’s happening this month at our Senior Groups:
Cantonese Senior Group (Wednesdays 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM)
•11/5 – Topic: Bingo Game with Rina Lau
• 11/12 – Topic: Spiritual Sharing with Ken Law
• 11/19 – Topic: Reflection & Thanksgiving with Gloria & Sandie (Special lunch by Elsie & Rina)
• 11/26 – No meeting due to Thanksgiving Holiday

• 11/6 – Topic: Craft Activity – Marisa
• 11/13 – Topic: Healthy Aging – Professor Jenny Niu
• 11/20 – Topic: Thanksgiving Reflection – Ryan
• 11/27 – No meeting due to Thanksgiving Holiday
A Message from Eric Siu to the Harvest Haven Team
Dear Harvest Haven Team,
Over the past few weeks, I’ve deeply felt the love and care you pour into the lives of our seniors. You thoughtfully organize a wide variety of activities—from brain games, health seminars, and day trips, to arts and talent classes. Even more moving is the way you prepare meals, welcome each participant with kindness, and accompany them with joy and patience at every gathering.
Your dedication is not just a one-time gesture—it’s a long-term, quiet commitment. It’s not just about programs, but about genuine care and heartfelt presence. For many seniors who live alone or whose children are far away, Harvest Haven is more than a center—it is a second home. A place where they feel valued, seen, and loved once again.
Thank you for your selfless love, your gentle hearts, and your tireless efforts to be a blessing in this community. Every small act you do supports the physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being of our elders and brings warmth, positivity, and connection to our community.
I extend my deepest gratitude and respect to each and every one of you.
May God remember your labor of love and bless you with strength, joy, and peace in all that you do.
With appreciation,
Eric Siu
