As new COVID cases in the US continue to drop, many of our classes and activities have gradually resumed over the past few weeks. As a reminder, line dance classes are on Mondays from 10:00-11:30am, ESL and Citizenship Class are on Saturdays from 1:30-4:00pm. Meanwhile, more people have been coming to play ping pong and pickle ball at our Center. We hope more classes will restart soon per the instructors’ discretion.
We will monitor the situation closely to decide when to reopen our Senior Programs. Meanwhile, our volunteers have continued to cater to the physical and psychological needs of the seniors through phone calls, social medias and visitations. Whenever some seniors felt lonely, sad or needed someone to talk to, our volunteers would visit them, have a meal with them and lovingly let them air out some of their concerns. Recently, when one senior had a bad fall and needed a home care helper, several volunteers immediately took action and helped her locate a helper in a matter of days.
Daylight Saving Time will begin on Sunday, March 13, 2022 at 2am. Please set your clock forward one hour before you go to bed on Saturday night to “spring forward”.
As we are beginning to see some light at the end of the tunnel, we hope everyone will still stay vigilant and use common sense to protect yourself since the 7-day average for the US is still at 61,165 cases per day as of March 1. Let’s pray for the people in Hong Kong and other countries where COVID cases are still escalating and also for the civilians in Ukraine who are suffering because of the war. May there be Peace on Earth and Joy for everyone!
