It is good news that with the increase in the supply of COVID vaccines, California will be expanding its vaccine eligibility. Starting April 1, individuals aged 50+ will be eligible to make an appointment, and individuals 16+ will be eligible to make an appointment to be vaccinated starting on April 15. Even though it seems that we are beginning to see light at the end of the tunnel, we should not let our guards down but continue to remain vigilant, wear our masks and follow public health guidance.
Under California’s state reopening strategy, counties are sorted into four color-coded tiers. Los Angeles County has moved from the most restrictive purple tier to the red tier on March 15, and could possibly be moved to the orange tier in early April. We are closely monitoring the situation. When LA County moves into the yellow tier where indoor businesses can open with 25-50% capacity, Harvest Haven will consider reopening shortly thereafter, following all the guidelines for everyone’s safety.
As we celebrate Easter on April 4th, the Easter message of hope, life, joy and resurrection is especially relevant during the pandemic. After months full of anxiety, we hope that the days ahead will be full of life and joy for us all! Happy Easter, everyone!
