Our lives are certainly full of challenges right now: on top of the pandemics, almost 4 million acres have been burned by fires in California alone, protests and unrests are still going on in certain areas and a recent 4.5 earthquake to top it off. Sometimes we cannot help but wonder how much longer we have to wait before life can be back to normal again. Romans 12:12 says, “Be joyful in hope, patient in trouble, and persistent in prayer”. We hope everyone can still find joy and peace in the midst of these turmoil. Be assured that many of us volunteers have been praying persistently for everyone’s safety and for the day we can see each other again without masks to arrive very soon!
Volunteers at Harvest Haven are still trying their best to show love and care by phone calls, video chats and short visitations outside the residences, etc. To celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival, the Mandarin seniors will receive gifts and some from the Cantonese senior group will be having a social distanced walk around the park, followed by lunch and mooncakes.
We would like to thank the donors and sponsors who have already sent in their checks to support Harvest Haven. It is with everyone’s help that Harvest Haven can survive through these hard times, so that it can continue to be a light to the community. Please visit www.harvesthaven.org for details about sponsorships or donations.
We sincerely hope everyone will stay safe and healthy and have a joyful Mid-Autumn Festival celebration with your family!
